COLLECTION

Since 2001, the company has been purchasing one or several works of art from each exhibition presented to expand its collection. The purchases are shown at the OSRAM offices and conference rooms and the collection is documented in an annual catalogue. Moreover, the Artothek offers employees the opportunity to borrow individual works from the collection.

The Artothek collection currently includes works from the following artists:

Picture

Yehuda Altmann

Yehuda Altmann's photographs depict places without people. The patina of history lies tangibly on the unmistakable photographic surface of the pictures.

Picture

Gabriele Basch

The motifs Gabriele Basch uses in her paintings are neither created with realism in mind, nor are they derived from pure imagination. Instead, they are filtered out from a large collection of snapshots.

Picture

Fides Becker

The artistic works of Fides Becker make her truly unique in the contemporary art scene. Her paintings satirize the image of women as they go about their daily routines in public and private.

Picture

Anne Berning

Berlin painter Anne Berning makes art history the subject of her work. Since the early 1990s, she has been creating oversized, painted, art book spines.

Picture

Christian Frosch

Munich artist Christian Frosch hasn't painted a conventional picture in many years. Departing from the subject and a potential statement, he focuses on the painting processes and utensils.

Picture

Helmut Geier

The term "palimpsest", which refers to the process of scraping off a written surface and writing over an older manuscript, paraphrases the painting style used by Munich-based artist Helmut Geier.

Picture

Stefan Heide

In this art exhibition, painter Stefan Heide focuses on the continuously evolving images of people. Heide's creative interpretations are based on the identity of the individual in relationship to other human beings.

Picture

Stefan Hirsig

A key aspect of the canvases and objects of the Berlin painter Stefan Hirsig is his reoccurring references to architecture. Such references often appear in his sketches and final works as obvious allusions or encrypted forms.

Picture

Petra Karadimas

Petra Karadimas's work exists somewhere between painting and photography. Her images depict people in public spaces: on the street, in parks, or at the beach - individuals going about their daily lives.

Picture

Wolfgang Kessler

The first Osram Haus exhibition is dedicated to a dialog between painting and photography - a theme as timely now as it was in the 19th century.

Picture

Julia Kissina

The photographs of Julia Kissina do not document events - they produce images that open a window to another world. It is an imaginary and provocative world of images that breaches the gap between mythology and genetic madness.

Picture

Herlinde Koelbl

According to Christoph Stoelzl, Herlinde Koelbl's work "…is marked by a precise strategy that captures milieus and creates culturally historical links - an orchestration of social inquest."

Picture

Christopher Lewis

Christopher Lewis makes use of a seemingly universal formal expression in his pictures: starting from pictograms and figurative marks, complex contexts are developed that elude any clear assertions.

Picture

Pia Linz

Pia Linz is not a painter in the conventional sense. She is a researcher who explores her own perception. The results of her studies are elaborate drawings and object-like paintings.

Picture

Sigrid Nienstedt

Vast horizons, unnatural light and intensive colours are the dominant features in the landscapes created by Sigrid Nienstedt. Her paintings combine concrete with abstract perspectives of reality.

Picture

Klaus Oberer

Klaus Oberer calls his work "Fotobilder," or photographic paintings. This name gives an idea of the duality of his artistic concept encompassing both photography and image design.

Picture

Rolf Poellet

Painting is a process of observing vision. In this respect, Rolf Poellet sees himself as a painter in a very real sense.

Picture

Tobias Regensburger

Tobias Regensburger's fantastic world manifests itself in a variety of forms. His room-dominating installations, machine-like sculptures, objects reminiscent of furniture, constructions made from small parts and futuristic drawings are characterized by unconstrained creativity.

Picture

Martin Wöhrl

Martin Wöhrl presents "Fishtank", an exhibition of architectural models, in which strict, geometric facade elements dominate the appearance of block-like home and office buildings. But these models are actually inhabited - by real fish.
