Excellent outlook for environmental protection with halogen

OSRAM has set itself the goal of providing sustainable protection for the environment. We therefore look at the entire life cycle of our products – from eco-friendly design and the use of appropriate materials to eco-friendly disposal.

Halogen lamps offer two major environmental benefits compared with ordinary light bulbs: they provide light for longer and they produce more light. This is thanks to the halogen in the filler gas that transports the vaporized tungsten back to the filament, thereby increasing the efficiency of the lamp. With halogen lamps you can save large amounts of energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

OSRAM has now further improved its economical halogen lamps and developed the OSRAM ENERGY SAVER lamps. These lamps offer energy savings of between 30% and 65% and corresponding cost savings. The concept behind this is that a special coating on the bulb reflects heat back to the filament. Our number one among energy-saving lamps is the DECOSTAR 51 ENERGY SAVER.
